The Community Health Network

“Working with the Community Health Network was a great experience, the consultants were familiar with both the NHS and voluntary sector, and worked intelligently, diligently, and to time.”
Chair, Brent Primary Care Trust

Peach Consultancy led the Community Health Network since 2005.  Initially funded to provide a research and development function to support Enfield & Haringey’s Community HIV Prevention commissioning team, the Network brought together multidisciplinary teams to develop new ways of delivering interventions to reduce health inequalities.  It had a special focus on sexual ill health and HIV.

Since 2009 the Network has managed the Time2Know partnership – a collaboration of commissioners, providers, clinicians and data specialists to pilot a new HIV test promotion outreach intervention targeting people from sub-Saharan African, who have multiple sexual partners and who use condoms inconsistently.

Between June 2010 and October 2010, Peach partner Catherine Pearson, as the Community Health Network Programme Manager, chaired the Safer Partnership (seven community providers delivering HIV prevention targeting African communities) in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham.  In addition, the Programme Manager has provided specialist advice on commissioning African HIV prevention work for the Pan London HIV Providers PCT Commissioning Team.

The Community Health Network was a member of the African Health Forum and the African Health Policy Network.  The Programme Manager was also a trustee of the African HIV Research Forum.
