Our subsequent projects with Furzedown have related to Human Resources. We have undertaken a salary benchmarking review, and also worked with them to revise job descriptions, and produced an extensive Staffing Handbook
The Furzedown Project was established in 1975 as a self-help, user led organisation. Its mission is to prevent social isolation among older people.
Its aim is to improve the health, well-being and independence of its members, and they provide a lively programme of social, educational, recreational and health promoting activities from the centre five days a week. It also provides assisted transport service to allow the attendance of people with poor mobility, and also offers a befriending service that offers home visits to people who find it very difficult to get out.
